About the event

Join us for the debut of our newest "Echo" – a custom box turtle sculpture created for the NC Arboretum's Playing Woods. Designed as both an art and playground feature, this piece will provide endless joy for young visitors. The unveiling ceremony is scheduled for the 20th at 11 a.m., just ahead of the "Music in the Mountains" festival.

About The Playing Woods at the NC Arboretum

Newly opened in the spring of 2025, the Playing Woods is a dedicated area near the Education Center designed specifically for outdoor wilderness adventure, creativity, and exploration for kids of all ages. This special space recognizes the importance of outdoor play and unstructured activities in childhood development, especially as such opportunities become increasingly rare.
